Volunteers

At Bethany House of Northern Virginia, Inc., volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We could not do what we do with out your dedication and support. Please join us in taking a stand in ending domestic violence one family at a time!

Please read through the volunteer position descriptions below to find a volunteer role that fits your interest and expertise. To find out more about each volunteer position, simply click on the program title, or contact the Volunteer Coordinator by clicking on the link or by emailing info@bhnv.org.   We are always looking for more help to keep our shelter programs a success!

                                                                 Children's Program

Volunteers are always needed to provide caring and compassionate support to the children in our shelter program. All childcare volunteers need to pass a background check and attend a volunteer orientation. Please Note: Children’s Program volunteers must be available on Thursday evenings from 7pm-9pm once a month and be able to make a six-month to one-year commitment.

Special Events

Volunteers assist with the planning and execution of fundraising benefits and other special events such as our Women’s Day event and Holiday Gift Drives. These volunteer opportunities are ideal for those who cannot make a regular commitment but would still like to be involved with BHNV and its clients.

Professional Services
There are many opportunities for volunteers to donate their time in their professional capacities (e.g., holding workshops or offering special resources to BHNV and our clients). Among the services needed are financial planning, graphic design, nutritional counseling, ESL instruction, medical and dental care for clients, legal, etc. Please provide us with information on the particular skill or training that you would like to contribute.
