About BHNV

Bethany House of Northern Virginia, Inc. (Bethany House) is a private, 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Bethany House is sponsored by grants and tax-deductible donations from individuals, various congregations, community organizations, clubs and businesses. It has been an established community partner since 1979. Bethany House is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the 501(c)3 guidelines of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.

Who We Serve

Bethany House provides emergency shelter and supportive services to victims of domestic violence throughout Northern Virginia and the surrounding DC metro communities.

 

 

 

Our Mission

Bethany House was organized to help women and their children who have suffered from domestic violence regain health and dignity and become re-established in their community by providing temporary housing and support.

Bethany House is committed to assisting victims of domestic violence and recognizes that: 

  • Domestic violence is a crime.Domestic violence almost always has devastating effects on the children as well as the parents.
  • Victims should be supported without regard to race, color, creed, age or gender.
  • Victims should receive services with courtesy, compassion and respect.
  • Bethany House should continue to foster communication and teamwork between professions and organizations to adequately serve the victims of domestic violence.
